How does one add a hard drive to BTV

I just added a HD to the system I have BTV installed on. I want to add that drive so BTV sees it and uses it for recording. I seem to have added the drive as BTV setup sees it as a pooled drive but I don't see an increase in the avail. recording time. I must have done something wrong. Can someone tell me where to find specific direction (or tell me) for adding a HD and having BTV see and use it?
