Was watching the projector last night, and was wondering how the blanking is able to know where straight up and down and straight across are. I only thought of this as I realized that you use the Pincushion and keystone to make the picture look square on you screen while its not actually square on you CRT face. So if thats the case then the blanking would have to actually be related the the image and not the CRT face.

Just one of those things that bugs me, and maybe somebody can tell me how my projector manages to be so smart.:)

Because it is removing scan lines.. well the vertical blanking does.

Horizontal blanking just changes when the retrace of each line starts and ends.

So if the scan lines are curved on the tube face, then the blanking will act in a curved manner if you will.. and thus look straight on the screen.

Is this making any sense?

If you solve that mystery CunnazZ, I'm sure you could make a fortune as an IT whore for most Fortune 500 companies.
