I'm intrigued with the Samsung 56" DLP, but with all the faults people point out, I'm still considering the Pro530HD from Pioneer. Plus the Pioneer's price is better.

How happy are you with your set?? Is it good with component in from your DVD player? That is how I will be using it for the most part for a long time.

Would you buy the same set again, or would you go with a newer technology??

Thanks for any replies!

I do have a 520, not the 530. But I'm very happy with it.

And I use it in the same way, that you are thinking of doing. As well as for HD via off air and DTV also.

AND, if I were to buy a new set tomorrow, to replace it. It would be the 530 that I would buy to do so.

As good as DLP and LCD may be, I still think it's work in progress at this point, and I would not want to pay to be part of the "beta" testers of either format right now. Two three years from now that may change.

All sets have one or more "issues" that come with the part of buying them. But I prefer to deal with the CRT "issues" over the ones that DLP and LCD have right now.
