How much is the "biggest" big?

It probably has been asked before, but I 'm too lazy to search.

How much did the most expensive system you have ever seen cost? Was it also the best system you have ever heard? What where the components? Was it in an equally expensive house?

Come on, share the juicy bits...

Most expensive I've seen was at a store.

It consisted of 2 Sonus Faber Stradivari's, 2 Musical Fidelity 1000 watt monoblocks, a Musical Fidelity Preamp, and a Musical Fidelity SACD Player. All the Musical Fidelity components were from their KW Series. Total asking price was $125,000 Canadian.

It sounded really good, but not $125,000 good. :)
I have heard that somebody has a Home theater with 7 Triamped Von Schweikert VR-11s powered by 21 Boulder 1050 power amps. Thats running over $500K already!

Yeah, I told Steve Bruzonsky to get rid of his old gear--I guess he really took my advice but went overboard!
Apparently some guy in the Bay Area has 5 Wilson X-2's. With associated electronics, i cannot even imagine how much that costs.
Not me!!! Still got the same old system.

The equipment total (retail value) in the Grande at Creative Home Theater in Las Vegas totals just over 2 million.

Here's some shots:

-BTW:

For those going to CES, they'll be open during the show. Acoustic design by SH! Acoustics, theater design by Theo Kalomirakis, Seating is Fortress and Cinematech, amps are all Monaco Audio (600x2 for the big ones, 300x2 for the small ones), Straightwire cabling throughout, Runco MBX-1 projector...I don't really remember the rest of the equipment.

Oh c'mon, the next thing you'll be telling us is that you're still using an antique CRT projector.

Saw a system for sale in Akihabara in Japan (some signatured series), for 12 million Yen (102,420 USD). That was a number of years ago, and unfortunately I don't recall what make it was.
Does this client of yours need any sons for adoption? :D :D :D
