I just had my Directv service set up, all is well. I am about 10 miles out of the local channel area that I want to get, so I am going to "move" into that area. Call me paranoid, but would DirecTV be uncooperative if I try to do this within a couple days of installing my service?

The only problem with that isa that you may not fall under their spotbeam if you are on the fringe of the DMA:eek:

Spotbeams do not perfectly fit the DMAs they serve. If he is just 10 miles from a DMA that is plenty close enough. I get signal strengths near a hundred on all spot beam transponders and am at least 50 miles from the closest market they serve.

If you are outside all spots try 'moving' to Hartford or Las Vegas. The new locals being launched starting next week will be full CONUS at least until another spot beam satellite is launched.
