Hi,

My picture is somewhat to bright, so I have ordered some ND filters to play with. My greatest concern is if the lens can get too hot if I fix the filter directly on the focus ring. I mean there will be no air circulation in front of the lens...

I have an Sony VPL-HS50 and I bought a 77 mm filter. I was thinking of fixing a rubber thingy on the filter so that it matches the diameter of the focus ring and simply slip it on. Is this ok?

i have heard of people using cans (such as a soup can, coffee can, etc), and lining them with felt or the like, cutting out the bottom, and attaching the filter onto it. get a can that is close to the size of your projector, and it should be able to slide right on.
