Has anyone put together a "How to backup and play dvd's in W7MC w/ my movies 3 for dummies" guide yet?


I finally got my HTPC and Server up and running but would like to know the fastest way to backup my dvd's...minus previews and all useless crap....and view them through my movies 3 in w7mc. I have read tons of post but none give you a good easy to follow step by step guide....and I need that!


I want to master the dvd first then move to blurays later on down the road.

Here is some info I have put together:

Ripping a DVD
Using Clown_BD to Rip Blu Ray/HD DVD
Setting Up MyMovies
Setting Up MediaBrowser

I downloaded the trial version of DVDFab and it is working great.


One more question though...when trying to copy just the main movie on a disk that has a theatrical and unrated version how do tell which one is which?

Really trial and error. I find the theatrical version is always slightly shorter timewise then any special edition
