It's called a matrix, combining an audience recording with a mixing board or ALD (assisted listening device?) recording. I have an HD video that has 5.1 sound, and it's a bit muffled. But I also have a mono ALD recording that's very clean but somewhat flat. What I need to do is rip the audio from the video, combine that with the ALD recording, and stick it back into the video.
I have no idea what makes the audio from the camcorder 5.1, but I have the option for stereo or 5.1 and I usually use 5.1. How is that actually encoded that makes it 5.1, and is that an issue when trying to combine it with a mono source?
I have Audacity, but no really good video editor. Thanks for any assistance.
