How to Control 2 replay's in same room

285 Views 7 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  asinshesq
I did some searching, but could not find details on how to either program a remote, or program the Replay/Showstopper units to recive different codes.

I have a Pronto, and would liek to get a second RPTV to take advantage of a dual tunner set up.

Thanks for any pointers.

I'm excited to finally be part of this forum, I've already learned some interesting things here Thanks,

If anyone knows, its the Robman at remote-central.

I found a pretty good workaround that I use with my Replay and SS. I use one remote and just keep one unit off, the other on. A simple push of the power button chooses which unit you control when. Search this forum for "claw foot portal" to find a way to keep the HD's in each spun up when the units are off, which prevents the normal delay when switching from one to the other. This works great and its one less remote to worry about.
Check out the Xantech RT16-10 IR router. Its not cheap and you have to buy their "programmers" remote to get the control codes but it can route IR signals for up to 16 of the exact same device.

Oh, hey look! They also make a 8 way router. That must be cheaper.
ReplayEric explained it all in the following post, which now resides in the archives....

This is also now documented on the following web site:

Enjoy.
Hey Rob,

Is it possible to udate the Replay Remote with these codes via the JP1 cable?

I don't have the cash for a Pronto, but I do have 2 replay remotes.
