Hello Folks,

Say that you have a dual layer DVD-video movie that you want to copy to two DVD-R disks due to it's size. You want those two new DVD-R disks to be able to play in the stand alone DVD player you have in your living room. How do you do that? I would be very thankful for any kind of tip, link, hint etc.

I have tested to take the video_ts.[ifo|vob|bup] files plus the vob/ifo files that didn't fit on the first DVD but it still doesn't play in my Panasonic RP91. NOTE: If the film is less than 4.7G it works just fine and I just ripp the files from one disk to the other it will play in my RP91. It can also be of interest to note that I can play the home made two disk DVD from one with powerdvd on my HTPC. However I also want to be able to play it on my stand alone player.

Here is an example how my two DVD-R can look like:

FIRST DISK

22.08.2000 05:23 12'288 VIDEO_TS.BUP

22.08.2000 05:23 12'288 VIDEO_TS.IFO

22.08.2000 05:23 333'824 VIDEO_TS.VOB

22.08.2000 05:23 59'392 VTS_01_0.BUP

22.08.2000 05:23 59'392 VTS_01_0.IFO

22.08.2000 05:23 8'192 VTS_01_0.VOB

22.08.2000 05:32 104'785'920 VTS_01_1.VOB

22.08.2000 05:32 104'785'920 VTS_01_2.VOB

22.08.2000 05:32 104'785'920 VTS_01_3.VOB

22.08.2000 05:32 104'785'920 VTS_01_4.VOB

------

VTS_01_5.VOB was to big to fit on the disk so it had to be moved to the second DVD-R

22.08.2000 05:32 104'785'920 VTS_01_5.VOB

----

SECOND DISK:

-----

22.08.2000 05:23 12'288 VIDEO_TS.BUP

22.08.2000 05:23 12'288 VIDEO_TS.IFO

22.08.2000 05:23 333'824 VIDEO_TS.VOB

22.08.2000 05:23 59'392 VTS_01_0.BUP

22.08.2000 05:23 59'392 VTS_01_0.IFO

22.08.2000 05:23 8'192 VTS_01_0.VOB

22.08.2000 05:32 104'785'920 VTS_01_1.VOB

------

VTS_01_1.VOB is actually VTS_01_5.VOB

------

(Don't try to add the size of the files this is just an example).

Also a question if I e.g. have several

VTS_01xxx

VTS_02xxxx

VTS_03xxxx

Now I only want to have the content from VTS_03xxx on my new DVD-video? How do I do ??

I know it's a lot of questions but I haven't managed to find the answers on the web so I hoped I could find them here :).

Cheers Beck
