I have got a couple of good(Euro 5000) stero receivers, how can I set them up to work here in the US. can I just get a Step up power transformer, and connect it to the receiver? Is there some other factors I have to consider? Also if the MAX power of the recevier is 1500w, Should I get a 1500w power transformer or 3000w would work too. What other solutions are possible in this case? What power transformer is good if that's the way to go??

You don't need to worry about the 60Hz. Transformer efficiency in the amplifiers power supply should increase slightly, i.e. less heat dissipation, and power regulation stage won't notice the change. You only need 220v.
