I have done some research on the Sears website and read posts on this forum about sears policies. This is my understanding - any who have actually made a purchase please add your comments:

Sears should price match local stores with no problems.

They may also price match some internet stores (but may add on the cost of shipping)

Per the Sears website they will beat a competitors price by 10% of the difference. (Not 10% under the competitions price).

Sears run promotions where if you use a sears card you get an additional 10% off. You have to read the fine print, but it certainly seems possible to receive the sears card discount after price matching.

Does anyone know their delivery process - what is included? According to customer service from their website they would deliver the TV, unpack it, plug it in to insure it works properly. Other stores (BB) would only deliver the TV and not remove it from the box.

im not sure about sears, but the plus 10% thing is 10% of the difference. So they're selling it for $1050 and another place is selling it for $1000. Price difference is $50 so the 10% off would be $5 bucks.
napple thats whack!!! i was getting all happy about getting 10% below the competitors price, too good to be true....what about best buy whats there policy?
You could fill out an employment application and if accepted take advantage of the employee discount. :D

Locally here in the NW, there's a store called Video Only that is sort of like going to a Mexican flea market. They will negotiate openly, and give additional discounts if you buy other stuff, pay cash, etc.

BB has the same price match policy, price match + 10% of the difference.

Could somebody please show me where to find info on that 10% off for using the Sears credit card? I have a Master Card by Sears and wonder if using that would enable me to get that 10% off.

Thanks.

I purchased my TH42PD25 from Sears the last day of January. I waited till they ran there 10% additional savings specials that they run from time to time. Here's the deal that I got.

(Circuit City Price - they had the best price going at the time) - (10% Sale) - (10% Employee Discount/Family member) - (10% of Difference between Sears Price and CC) + (1 day Shipping) + Tax = Add to cart to see price

:D

In the end, I got one sweet deal and you can too if you have an Employee discount.
how exactly does the employee discount work, do you think someone friendly that works at sears could do it for me?

I doubt they would do that for you. They have a card with a number that identify's them as an employee. I mis-read your post. I thought your Dad was an employee.
