Hi,

I'm seeking advice on the best/easiest/cleanest way to glue cloth on a grill frame. What I have is:

Parts Express Speaker Grill Frame Kit
Parts Express Speaker Grill Cloth Fabric Black

I am committed to using these frames as they are already cu, assembled and holes drilled in the boxes.

This cloth isn't what I expected and seems rather stiff and difficult to form. I tried hot glue and it squeezed right through the cloth but did not stick well to the frame.

I could try sanding the frame where the glue is to attach. I may also try the more typical, stretchy polyester cloth.

I'd seek advice first before I botch it beyond salvage.

Thanks.

It could mean some extra work wrt to masking

3M or Loctite spray adhesive?

maybe run some tests on scraps, etc.
and the extra build up of material in the folded corners is some times a puzzler . . .
the spray would allow for the need for no neatly folded over corners.

spray the face of the frame and drop it onto the material.
cut enuf to fold over tot he back side.
mask off as needed, spray and fold
repeat . .
HTH, maybe

Quick shot of spray adhesive. You cut relief cuts at the corners so the cloth covers over the corners without bunching up. I did that literally just today on a few of my DIY acoustic panels.
