How to hang a melamine board?

565 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  THE BIG SITT

I bought the metal picture hangers from Menard's and used Loctite Powergrab to adhere it to the board. After waiting 24 hours, the Loctite didn't stick to the metal hanger, but it did stick to the board. Any ideas what to do? I can just screw the bracket into the board because it is only 1/4" thick.

For me, When ever I Just want to hang the Melamine board(I'm guessing your meaning the 4 x 8 TWH from Homedepot or Lowes) I use some 1/8 inch mirror clips and screw them in the wall and set the board in it like you would a mirror. The TWH is pretty light even after painting on so all you need is 2 mirror clips on the bottom and 2 up top provided they are evenly spaced. No need to put any clips on the side like you would with a mirror.

Wow that is a fantastic idea! I would say the board weighs no more than a mirror, so weight wouldn't be an issue. Hopefully getting everything all level won't be too difficult (knock on wood). Thanks!
