I want to go with 3 identical speakers for the LCR and I have a 50" plasma (might go to 65" in a year or two). I'm currently looking at smaller towers (polk monitor 50/60 size), and wanted to get thoughts on how to make the center work. The options are to wall mount the TV a little higher than what I understand to be ideal and put the center right in the middle where it should be, or, to place the center off to the side of the screen which would allow the option of a nice cabinet. The mains will be about 7'-8' from the center of the screen. Certainly acoustically option A is better, and the screen really wouldn't be that high, but what are peoples thoughts on the 2 options. I've found a couple of pictures by searching and in the gallery of higher screens with the center under, but not many. I haven't found any with an offset center. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, links to photos of either would also be excellent.

Yeah, in thinking about it more it's not that high, not "above the mantel" height by any means. That definitely seems to be the way to go.

Now I just have to figure out how to do it so it looks good, i.e. build a custom cabinet around the speaker, or wall mount with equipment cabinet off to the side, etc.
