I'm going to a pj shootout tomorrow in Ft. Lauderdale, and I would appreciate some suggestions as to best way to judge black level and contrast using DVDs. I've read that "Dark City" and "Fifth Element" may be good, but not sure which scenes and exactly what to look for.

Specific suggestions would help this novice (unfortunately I don't have a test dvd, like Avia).

Here's the list of their shootout:

Install/Pro AV

Barco 6500

Sanyo: PLC-60

Toshiba: MT7

Desk top/ install

Sanyo XU35 - (brand new - first one in Florida)

Panasonic: 711

Ultraportable:

Plus: U3-100Z - (XGA, 2.9 lbs., zoom lens, 1000

lumens)

Plasma:

NEC 61 inch Plasma display (new)

Thanks.
