Are there any detailed instructions out there for mounting FLAT panels when the "optimal" conditions arent there?

For example I want to mount the TV in the center of my living area, but the stud locations do not end up being center. I am sure this has happened to many a person, but I havent found any detailed (step by step pictures) on what to do in this instance?

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

I had the same problem a couple days ago. I used this articulated arm which allowed me to fasten the mounting base on a stud and yet still position the TV where I wanted it. Mine was only a 26" LCD TV mounted above a door opening in the kitchen but they have similar units for larger size screens as well.

I would assume that by using this method that when you articulate the arm more center that it in turn makes the TV stick out farther from the wall. Where this might be a plausible solution, it is not preferable in my case. Great idea though, and thanks for the response. Perhaps that will help someone else in a similar situation!

Just buy the mount for large LCD's They are wide enough to go across 3 studs (2 if not centered)

Thanks for the info Servicetech! I did not know that!

Try what ServiceTech says, hopefully it will be aesthetically agreeable.

LOL MrBobb! I am sure there are plenty of less motivated people out there to keep you in business!
