I've been having trouble trying to get rid of the ever-present poping noises i get when my pre/pro locks onto a DD5.1 signal. I dont think its a software problem since i switched from windvd to powerdvd to now theatertek. There is always a loud poping noise when the DD5.1/DTS signal is detected. I suppose i could mute out the sound but that is annoying. My current configuration is as follows:

HTPC

P4 2.4 ghz

512 ddr ram

60gb hdd

Audigiy 2 (using spdif out, rca to digital coaxial)

radeon 9100

antec lanboy case with psu

HT setup

goo 0.5 pj

orpheus HT range of speakers

ROTEL 1066/1075 combo

svs 20-39+

Does anyone have any of these problems? i just hope im not damaging my speakers everytime the pop occurs, please note it only occurs at the start of the dvd, during the movie, there is no further poping, just the initial lock-on of the DD5.1 or DTS signal. I really hope i can fix this problem!

Thanks all.

Do you have the audio device set to "default directsound". That should work best for Audigy 2.
