How to scope my S/PDIF

As you may know, there's been some controversy about SB Live cards and the voltage being passed via the S/PDIF when hooking up to an external amp.

How do I 'scope' my S/PDIF ????

Very carefully. :D

Terminate the end for your S/PDIF cable (remove from receiver) with a 75 ohm resistor and connect the scope probe to the center lead and ground. If the cable is not properly terminated the voltage level will not be correct.
Why do we need a scope anyway? Why wont a voltmeter suffice?

Thanks.
I have a stupid question...how do you get the digital signal from the sound card to the reciever? The computer store I visited had no idea. What kind of cable and where do I get one. Thanks.
