You didn't get a owners manual?

The Onkyo 604 doesn't have Large/Small settings for speakers. You simply dial in the crossover setting for each speaker group (fronts, centre, sides, rears).

As a starting point, find out the low frequency response that your speakers are spec'd for and dial the crossovers to that setting. Sounds below those frequencies will be re-routed to your subwoofer.

I hope it doesn't let you set it to 20Khz! You'd be essentially bypassing your main speakers entirely. You'd probably want to look at something in the 50-60Hz range.

Crossover frequency here (in simple terms) means that anything below that frequency will be handled by your subwoofer. With the specs of your speakers, your best bet will be 60 or 80hz for those channels. Once you set the crossover frequency to (for example) 60hz, the low frequencies below 60hz will be reproduced by your subwoofer.

I would follow axs' advice and set the crossover to 60Hz or 80Hz (pick whichever one sounds better with the system overall). BTW, how low do your centre and surround speakers go?
