I'm expecting delivery of my new projector soon and I'd like to test it on arrival for dead/stuck pixels. What's the best way to go about doing this? Do projectors typically have test screens for doing this test built-in or do I need one of the test DVDs? I've heard that Video Essentials has Red/Green/Blue test screens, but that DVD seems in short supply. Would Avia have similar test screens?

Avia does indeed have R/G/B test screens (as do some projectors like AE100/200/300 under the service menu). I believe the best way to check for dead/stuck pixels is to inspect each of the R/G/B panels closely.

Thank you. A friend of mine has the Avia disk, so I'll borrow it tonight and confirm it has those test screens.
