Well, there is so much info to read it's almost impossible to sift through it all. I've read 100's of pages of posts and one thing I noticed is not clear is the EPG's out there. I know that is a major concern for most of us since it's a major part of the interface we'll deal with every day. I've seen charts that tell you if it even has one, or if it's "better" or "best" but that does nothing. so, maybe we can start a little thread outlining the EPG's you are familiar with.

What's the graphic quality of the EPG?

How far out is it supposed to go, how far does it go?

How many channels will it show at one time?

Is it accurate?

Digital Stream 9950:

EPG quality is decent, readable but nothing fancy

I don't know how far out is supposed to go, but I've seen it go out more than 24 hours

It only shows the channel you are currently on, no way of surfing through channles.

So far, I'd say it's 85% accurate, but I suppose that's the TV stations?

Wow, thanks man! How did I not find that in my searches???

I was reading the box-specific threads but between 5 or 6 boxes and 100's of posts per thread, my coupons will expire and my kids will be in high school by the time I'm done.

You're not the first person to ask that and you probably won't be the last. Alot of your and other people's time would have saved if they had made the thread a "Sticky" like these two at the top of the list:

I keep reading referrals to other threads, as though this has been answered and it probably has, but I'm not deciphering it.

Is there a consensus on the best program guide?

It seems to be between the Apex and the DTV Pal.

Is this true?

Does one have a more useful guide?

Is another one better?

Do they both extend 7 days when possible?

I have looked at too many threads that tell me to go look at another thread.

I'm just getting more confused.

I have a coupon that runs out in a couple of days.

And does anyone know of a mail order site for the Zinwell right now, besides Solidsignal?

They don't return phone calls.

Ever.
