HP: Deathly Hallows - 2 movies?

1751 Views 19 Replies 16 Participants Last post by  Shaded Dogfood
Hey guys. Long time reader, and I don't post often. I read about this news this morning and thought I would share. Apparently (hopefully) they might be creating Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as 2 movies because there is so much to the story that they do not want to leave anything out (and they shouldn't). Let's hope so, and it will all be on glorious Blu-ray!!!

How much do you want to bet me that this is a false rumor? I am not a betting person but I occasionally do for near sure things.

Ain't gonna happen.
It's being posted everywhere, so who knows.

Also, is this really needed in the Blu-ray software forum?

Why not!?

When it comes out, it will be only available on Blu-Ray.

Whats with the wannabe moderators lately trying to decide what people can post?

Get over yourself...at least this is better than the normal posts around here lately.

If the mods don't think it belongs here, they will take care of it.

If this movie was about to hit theaters, I could understand. We're still 8 months away from the half blood prince even. Jesus christ join a movie forum if you're that hyped about a movie that far off.
Also, if people are challenging what people post, theres probably a reason why it's being challeneged. It shouldn't be there...
If they are open to doing two they should have done two for the Goblet of Fire, that was the first really big book, they cut out tons of stuff.

I will be seeing whatever they produce with the little wizard in the theater, for the forseeable future.
Wow!!! People in the Blu Ray/HD DVD forums are so angry all the time!!! I think it is time for a lockdown for a few days....let everyone cooldown from all the sparring happening during/after CES!

I personally am excited for that!! That would be a great way to end the series, and Warner can capitalize profits by expanding one movie into two!
It would make sense, but they don't even have a director for Deathly Hallows yet (all the previous directors want a shot at it, as well as some who were offered previous movies but had to pass), so no decision like that would be made at this point.

+1, it was rumored that they were going to do that but that the director insisted he could do it all in one film. I don't know why the producers would decide against doing 2 films for 1 book (if the rumors were true), more films = more money. They could've released 1 film in the summer and one in the fall or vice versa. I've never read the books and though I liked both of the last two films I felt like there was a lot that was left out just from watching them.
It was actually Alfonzo Cuaron, the director of the third movie, who convinced Steve Kloves, the writer of 1-4 and 6, to keep the Goblet of Fire as one movie instead of splitting it up into two.
i hope they just do one... lots of boring times in that last book, 'coz half the time they really did not know what they're doing and what to do / where to go next...
Actually the movie being split in to two parts is true, Warner got Quentin Tarantino to direct the last flick. Expect some dialog changes and go beyond the violence then the books, first harry potter with an R rating.

I actually agree with this, there seemed to be a lot of sitting around not knowing what to do in 7.
LMAO! They want to release two because "there is sooo much they don't want to leave out."

Yeah Right.

I think WB realizes their license to print money is running out after two films and would rather stretch it to four.

well, it seems like its official. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be made into 2 movies.

This is a movie forum (or what's left of it), mister I've-been-around-long-enough-to-post-46-times.

I'm sure the mod would be happy to let you know we attempt to be a bit more civil around these here parts.
They should have done two movies for every book. I am appalled by how much they left out.

There should never be such a thing as "only on Blu Ray", period.

It appears you missed the part about this thread being started in the Blu-ray Software Forum. A moderator moved it over here after the comment you quoted was made.

Yeah, and it's several months old, too. I should have realized all the unfamiliar names meant something was up. But it still strikes me as unnecessarily nasty.
