Hr10-250 or wait for mpeg4 dvr?

Thinking of pulling the trigger on HR10-250 TIVO and adding HD, with the rebates it seems like the best time. But not sure when they will roll out mpeg4 and HD locals in San Diego.

Does anyone know when San Diego might get locals? Is it a good deal right now to get HR10-250 then upgrade later when mpeg4 comes out, and when they make the change are they going to have a mpeg4 DVR? What are most people paying when they do upgrade you. Customer service says it will probably be a $99 charge to send someone out to change the dish and no charge for the receiver. Not sure if you can trust them. Any feedback would be appreciated.

JayG:..the changeover to MPEG3 is FREE. And no trades!...Buy the hr1--250 now if you want it. But do get a good deral with rebate from Directv. Then, when new MPEG4 DVR comes out, you will be able to get same at a very reasonable price.
Thanks for the response, can't wait to finally get HD over my new Pioneer plasma.
I also bought now rather then later. IMO the price difference was too great to not do so and just let them replace the unit when MPEG-4 arrives locally.
