What would happen if I connect the motorola to the hs-20 to receive 720 or 1080i programming? Will the screen fill completly with both 720 and 1080? Is there an advantage to use one rather than the other? I assume I would have to use the "through" settings for 720 and 1080i. The pj resolution of 1366*768 does not exactly match 720 output.


If someone is using this combination please let me know your findings.


Also does the dvi input look superior to the component through the motorola?


I am considering using the supplied multi cable component connection for the motorola and the "S" connection for DVD. I was using the component up until now for DVD, I have compared the two and they look about the same.

I'm running a Moto 6200 to an HS20 via component. 1080i fills and cannot be adjusted at either source. 720P fills, but I can't remember if you can toggle between Through (720 with black borders) and Full. I run at 1080 because most channels support 1080 and the HS20 can use the additional info. Really 1080 is the HS20s killer app. I was disappointed in native 720 (Fox and ESPN) at 720. Tons of compression atifacts. HBO, NBC and other 1080s look incredible.


Save your PJmulti for outdoor driveins on your garage, etc.. Go to BlueJeans and get a good, inexpensive, component. You'll see the difference.


I just ran an HDMI cable and the difference from my 3910 is HUGE. Avia's resolution test difference is fun to see. I'm wondering too if running DVI-to-HDMI + a switch is worth it on HDTV. I hate to obsolete my 3805's component upconversion on 30' cable...

So you set the hs20 to "full" to recieve 1080i? The pj then scales to that resolution.

When you run 720p did you try "through"? That would require no scaling but I think that there would be a small border around the screen because of the difference between the pj's resolution 1366*768 and the incoming signal720.

Can you confirm this setting for me? 720 output to the hs20 in through mode.
