I have a Sony HS10 still under my 30 day no questions asked return period. I connected it to a PC with a Nvidia based ELSA Quadro DCC video card (GeForce3). I'm using a 25' DVI-D dual link cable. It works great at 1024x768. However when I use powerstrip to get a widesceen mode the projector either goes black showing no input, or giving a frequency out of range warning. I've tried 1280x720 and 1360x768 etc. I can put the computer back on my CRT monitor and verify that the computer is putting out the signal, however not on the DVI output, the HS10 is the only DVI display device I have. I've heard people saying that they have gotten near native res signals into the HS10. The manual has next to no info on this. Any ideas? Forgive me if this has been covered, I'm new to the forum and my search skills may be lacking.

It is possible - I've done 1366 x768 as well as 1280 x 720 (using Video mode) with some overscan. I'm using a ATI Radion.

Did you cut and past the powerstip settings from the HS-10 FAQ (do a google search). The native 1:1 mapping uses a strange frequency. Also, you need to make sure your HS-10 is in computer mode for the 1366 x 768 and video mode for the 720p output.

I'm not sure about doing this with the Nvidea card - you'll have to search more for that.

Nope, this maybe exactly what I need, I'll do this tonight.

Perhaps this belongs in the HTPC forum, but I'll ask anyway... There seems to be a preference for the Radeon cards over the Nvidia stuff. Is there a particular advantage/disadvantage to either in the current generation of cards?

At the moment you can't use the custom resolutions with powerstrip and nvidia cards in operating systems other than windows 98.

You can get 1280x720 to work with your nvidia card though if you put the Hs10 into the video gbr mode.

The reason is that the Nvidia drivers won't ignore the settings in the Edid that it has for the Hs10 (except for the windows 98 ones, you can do something to get past it with those), and the edid doesn't list higher than 1024x768 in it. Nvidia is working on it though here's a link to where they say they are:

It's always something. I'm already in the market for a new video card for the HTPC anyway. Guess I'll get an ATI, I was considering one anyway. I'll try the 1280x720 under gbr mode in the meantime and see how that works out. Who knows how long Nvidia will take to sort it out, if ever.

What are the PowerStrip settings to get 1280x720 under GBR mode to properly fill the screen? I can get this resolution to work, but with terrible overscan. I got 1:1 to work in computer mode, but the 56 Hz refresh causes stutter. I would like to get 1280x720 at 60 Hz working to hopefully eliminate the stutter.
