Lately, after changing channels, the HS2000 stops responding to the remote. The TV operation still works. I see the light activate on the remote so I know the keys are working. It is hooked to satelllite and the satelllite is working.
I then hold the power button in for 5 - 10 seconds to reboot then all is OK for awhile.

AH... new hard drive.. you didn't say that. Add 3 more heats if you didn't add a fan. If you did add a fan, add 1 heat and 2 airflow.
btw... when I said power, I wasn't talking line power, I meant power supply problems.
(come to think of it, your new hard disk being bad may be slightly more likely than a bad power supply. You probably have a heat problem anyway)
When I've added fans to Replay 2000 series units, I noticed the top holes are too small for good airflow. I drilled the holes above the fan bigger, and drilled some by the power supply.
In 2k, and 3k units, I've covered all the top vents (except over the fan) with electrical tape to force air in the side and out the fan. Without the covers, air will suck right in/out the top by the fan and not cool the disk/power supply.
I got a $15 92mm fan at CompUSA. I like the variable speed units to cut down on noise, but I think the internal heat is pretty constant.
What I do is take two of the posts from the ez-bake oven and attach them to screws protruding between the circuit board and front panel.
I then attach the ez-bake oven to those posts. (hanging by one side). ( I think lizard-boy came up with the design, but I can't find the pics)
That leaves a nearly perfect fit for a 92mm fan between the other lip of the ez-bake and the top of the (plastic) RCA jacks.
I cut off a piece of the fan box and use that between the ez-bake and fan to keep it pushed against the back wall (prevent it from falling).
I cut off pieces of the ez-bake foam cushion and put it on the upper four corners of the fan to dampen any noise vibrations against the lid. Make sure you don't get the foam in the way of the blades.
As mentioned, for RTV 2k units, I drill out the holes over where the fan will go to improve circulation. Screw a piece of wood to the inside of the top and drill through the top. (That will prevent burs). Also drill a few by the power supply.
After installation, I cover the top holes with electrical tape to direct circulation.
