Hsu STF-1 or BIC H-100 or ???

Ok, I am ready to get a sub. I have a Yamaha 6140 receiver, 2 Polk Rti6 speakers for fronts and Energy c-r 100s for surround on the way. Now I need a decent sub and will get a center later. I can't spend more than $325 and I don't mind buying used if I can find a good deal. My room is 15x15x10. I would say 90% movies and 10% music and games. Won't be cranking the volume very often. I have found a few and need to know what you guys think. Here is what I have found. If you know of others, feel free to include them. I would like to get something done by tomorrow. The Ed a2-250 is too big, so it is out.

Parts Express:Famous Maker 10" 100W Powered Subwoofer $288 new

HSU STF-1 Subwoofer $276 new

Bowers & Wilkins B&W ASW500 (used)

Velodyne CHT-10 Subwoofer (used)

Bic H 100 $200 used

Premier Acoustic PA-120 $229 new

STF1 or CHT-10
Thanks cacihome. I was leaning toward the bic or hsu. I will check out the velodyne some more. Anybody else.
But the HSU will be new so I see a clear winner there...
Yes, but I can get them both new for the about same money. And the Hsu has an 8' woofer and the BIC has a 10" woofer. I just don't want to buy one and wish I had spent more and got a better sub. There are just too many choices. I really like the Hsu because they have a reputation of building good subs.
Yep. That was why I said the STF-1...

Anyway from those three subs, in output, I don't think you will notice a difference...
Hey let us know that you think you made the right decision.
I am looking at the same set of subs. Let me know how the HSU sounds! I have the klipsch quintet III speaker set-up.

I cannot make up my mind about which one to buy; the H-100 or STF-1...

This will be my first sub, so not sure how much I can tell you guys. I almost got the H-100 but it is just too big for me. From what I have read they are probably about the same, with the Hsu have a better name with subs.

actually the bic is a 12"...
Thanks you for correcting me. I only have room for a 12" sub. I was about ready to get the PA 120 or a used H-100. Then I did some measuring and went with the Hsu.
how is the STF-1? I'm in the same position. The only reason is the 8inch hsu vs the 12inch pa-120 woofer. Physically and mentally the 12inch will hit harder and drive deeper. My room size is the same and rjaco. More movies than music.

I'm running F2's and yamaha 663.
I have the Bic H-100 and love it. It is a little boomy on loud base scenes, but that is probably because I have never calibrated it and like more bass than what is probably recommended.
Mine will be here Thursday, hopefully. Not sure if I can give much of a review. This is my first sytem and I haven't listened to very many.
I am a newbie to all of this but I really like this sub. I was amazed at how much I was missing with a sub. I guess bigger is usually better but this sub is more than enough for us.
Hi RJACO - So...how do you like the STF1 so far...

feedback from you or others getting this would be appreciated...
I am basically stuck between H100, STF-1 ugh ...
^^Have never owned an STF-1 so I can't comment. I just received and installed a BIC H-100 on Friday. You can read my initial reaction and see some pictures here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1134097
