You didn't provide any details on which sub you have but I'd guess the amp went out. Did you contact HSU?
it’s an old sub, not under warranty any more. I’m going to try fixing it myself. You didn't provide any details on which sub you have but I'd guess the amp went out. Did you contact HSU?
I like the sub. Worst case scenario, I’d go buy sub amp and keep using it.Its most likely broke. Especially if its old. Like socks, stuff does wear out and need to be replaced.
FWIW, posting "my sub quit working hgats wrong?". with no info additional is well, silly. It results in "check your blinker fluid level" type of responses. Once again, its probably broke.
EDIT: your response above came in as I was typing. Looks like I was right. Your sub is broke. 😘
Thats a good find for sure, unless something else did in the cap. Based on age you might luck out that the cap just went bad. A bit of good luck on your part for sure.I like the sub. Worst case scenario, I’d go buy sub amp and keep using it.
More than likely, it will work just like new after I replace the 40 cent capacitor.
Do some research on caps and don’t cheap out on low quality ones. They also need to be soldered in with the correct orientation.I like the sub. Worst case scenario, I’d go buy sub amp and keep using it.

Thanks for the heads up! Exactly why I posted here. Much obliged! Also Check for a shorted regulator IC like a 7815 or 7915 I have seen those symptoms or a shorted zener diode. When you unplug it the voltage falls to the level it should be for a split second.
I gave them 9v each. One read 1v and the other read .5v. Are they defective? Also Check for a shorted regulator IC like a 7815 or 7915 I have seen those symptoms or a shorted zener diode. When you unplug it the voltage falls to the level it should be for a split second.
