My first HT room. Need your help to get the right room size. The unfinished basement is 14X32X8.5. My system including, sony HS51 with 103 sreen, speakers:paradigm studio40, CC-570, ADP 470 and Servo15. Is this room too long? I can finish it short. I plan to put two rows of seats. Thanks for all suggestions.

I would see where you sit normally for watching with that size screen.

Then I would add about 6' for a each row and some left over space between the last row and the back wall.

That is a little long for 2 rows of seats. Are you sure you won't want a third row in the future? If you decide on 2 rows with that size screen, I would say about 22' long. But it depends how close/far you like to sit to screen. The first row would be about 12' from screen, and the second row about 18'.

I'd probably chop about 6' off of it and divide that 14x6 into two rooms: one to use as an equipment & media (shelves) room, and the other a bathroom (without knowing any more information).
