HTPC Build - Will it play? Edition

SAMSUNG 22X DVD±R

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB 7200 RPM

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - OEM

GIGABYTE GA-E7AUM-DS2H LGA 775 NVIDIA GeForce 9400 HDMI Micro ATX

Intel Core 2 Duo E7400

APEVIA X-QPACK-NW-BK/420

The aim for my build is to play DVDs, 720p/1080p MKVs, Xvid encoded AVIs, MP3s, and HD Hulu(Maybe the occasional MAME too). I have 4 1 GB sticks of Ram at home, that I plan to put into this. I'm planning on using Mediaportal with the StreamedMP skin. The ultimate goal is to keep it under $450, which it is by 2 dollars. Anyone have an experience with these components? Do they work well with each other? How is the performance with these components? Is that case stupid? Am I stupid for making this post? Any constructive criticism, ideas, or opinions will be taken into consideration when I begin purchasing. Thanks for all your help and replies.

did you factor in the cost of the OS?
I don't know about the case, but the motherboard and CPU combo should work nicely together and should handle everything you throw at it.

I did. I am getting a copy of Win 7 Business through the school to run on it.

Do you have another suggestion? I'm all ears. That case was just the best balance of size and price I could find. If you could suggest something with quality and just a tad bit more expensive, I'd definitely take it into consideration. Or could I buy a different power supply and replace the one inside the case? If so, do you have a suggestion for the PSU? Thanks

Edit: Found this case on Newegg, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ntec%20NSK2480 . How about it?

I suggest NSK 2400 B with a better PSU such as CMPSU-450VX (or CMPSU-400CX).

As long as you're not planning on using Media Center as it's not available in the Business edition.
