The company I work for is looking at some digital signage.


I found this a VIA VB8300. They claim it can drive 5 monitors. The video below shows 5 monitors being driven, 2 of them showing the same content but the others each show something different.

I'm not hung up on this mobo, but am curious what it takes to drive 3 monitors each with a different video.


I've been searching around-and found mostly commercial products. Can this be a DIY project? Any input would be appreciated.

You can use any multi-head card to run multiple videos on multiple displays. I will run two different videos on my home machine, on per monitor, for comparison. You simply need card with enough horsepower, and heads, to give you what you want. I have a four head card at work, but on a PCI bus. This card could not drive multiple video sources and monitors cleanly.

I kinda thought so. How would sound be handled? Multiple sound cards?
