I've searched but can't find an answer. If I just missed it, feel free to flame away!


I'm considering buying a Panasonic 300U projector since the prices are so low. Its DVI input is NOT HDCP compatible.


My sources will be DVD and HDTV (from an over-the-air antenna and an HDTV tuner card) from a HTPC with a DVI connection.


Will the lack of HDCP capability on the projector limit me with this setup?

Only if you decide to do anything with Satellite networks which are requiring DHCP output capable boxes by April I think. Motorola STB are just now getting their DVI connection enabled this week with the latest 7.07 firmware.


All things considered, unless it is a very cheap box you can afford to use for a short time, I'd like for HDCP compatible if you don't want to drop back to component input

If you get the MyHD MDP-120 with DVI daughter card you won't even notice that the projector doesn't have HDCP. It's other sources that you have to worry about. However, if the MyHD card meets your needs for DVD and OTA HDTV, then you're set.
