The gamma adjustment works with Radeon cards with WinDVD 2.6-2.8 and ATI player 4.1. You can also adjust gamma using the registry so that other apps such as DScaler can benefit (as long as they don't reset or alter the overlay on startup).

I had made a bunch of posts where I thought you could change the gamma on any HTPC, but it turns out that it does *not* work on the overlay.

I think for a GeForce card, it's impossible. I ended up changing the gamma on my projector directly.

Did not have much luck with this on the HTPC forum. I could have sworn I read here that it was possible to adjust a gamma curve with a HTPC using a overlay.

Maybe it is just my software: I am using WIN DVD and Powerstrip to make it work (or I should say not).

I am now under the presumption that this combo does not work. Which does?

Thanks,

Jeff
