HTPC help - VGA from PC to Panasonic TH-50PX25U/P

Please help - I've got this great plasma that has poorly placed inputs. My Bravo D2 dvd player is using the HDMI input, so I have a VGA cable from my HTPC (running a cheapo nVidia 5200 card w/ DVI and VGA out) plugged into the front VGA input of the plasma. Panasonic didn't bother to put a VGA on the backside. I hate looking at the cable snaking out the front of the monitor and having to keep the control panel door open. Any suggestions?

I'm currently running the HTPC at a 1040x720 resolution and everything looks/works great.

Will I lose resolution if I get a VGA->component cable (ie the one from RAM Electronics previously mentioned in this fourm?).

Is there a benefit to upgrade to Raedon 9600/9800 and use their DVI->component converter? I'd rather get a cable for $20 than a new card, etc.

Thanks.
