I have a Sony KP-65WV600 that I am attempting to hook up to my HTPC which is running a CHAINTECH GSV86GT 512MB GeForce 8600 GT 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card. I am connecting my HTPC into Input 6 on my TV via a DVI-to-Component cable I got off monoprice. I am not getting any signal on the television. Do I need to have my card set to a specific resolution? Is the video card incapable of passing to component?

I could make a straight dvi-to-dvi connection if need be, but would have to change my ps3 to an HDMI-to-component connection due to restrictions.

Any assistance would be appreciated, I could not find an exact duplicate of this problem on the site. I had links to my exact equipment but the board said I needed 3 posts.

That cable is the first easy mistake. There are different kinds of component signals. The Tv doesn't want RGB it wants YPbPr which requires a transcoder. See this product or this product . After you get the hardware squared away head over to the htpc forum for lots of reading on how to set up custom resolutions on the pc because the Tv needs special timings to make the picture sync.
