Having some problems w/ my HTPC so any help is appreciated. I'm trying to play the following movie:

The X Files: I Want to Believe

It plays perfectly all the way until the the last 10 minutes or so of the movie. Then the computer locks up and both WMP and Zoom Player v6 will start using more and more ram. It will eventually max out the computers 2GB of ram. Both players exhibit the problem. The problem occurs at the exact same point in the movie every time. If I'm playing in maximized/full screen mode then not even CNTRL-ALT-DELETE gets a response. So I have to play in partial screen/windows mode with the task manager in view in order to kill the player that's gone haywire.

I've installed the following codecs:

windows essentials media

All of the codecs (ffdshow etc) that Zoom Player installer downloads for you.

My hardware:

Asus A7N8x deluxe

2 GB ram

AMD 2500+

Radeon 9600 pro

Samsung DVD-R

Window XP SP3, very few programs installed. Only used for netflix so it's pristine virus/spyware wise.
