Hi everybody. I'm totally new to htpcs so please bear with me. I'm connecting a Radeon 9500 Pro to a Hitachi 51f500 RPTV via DVI. Problem I'm having is the highest resolution I can run without massive overscan (using powerstrip) is around 848x480. Anything much higher and I can only see a small portion of the desktop. I read the sticky about using powerstrip but maybe I'm misunderstanding it since I'm using the custom resolutions. Can't I have a high res desktop that fits within the screen of my TV? It is supposed to support 1080i but seems to automatically go to 480p. What am I doing wrong? I also have a GeForce 6800nu, would it work any better? Thanks guys.

After doing some more reading I think maybe the problem is that I'm connecting DVI to DVI which is limiting the resolutions I have available. Would I be better off using s-video out? My set has DVI or s-video only, no component.
