HTPC problem with Denon AVR-3311CI

I recently replaced a Pioneer Elite VSX-33 with a Denon AVR-3311CI. Since upgrading, I have had trouble getting my HTPC to work consistently. I use HDMI 1.4 cables. (Not sure about the HDMI to DVI cable.)

Here are the problems I am having:
  • When I switch inputs, my computer doesn't recognize the HDMI audio out when returned to the HTPC input unless the cable is unplugged, then plugged back in.
  • Often times when I load a Blu Ray in PowerDVD 12 (latest patch), the projection screen flashes pink. This happens at random more often than not.
  • I can't output to two monitors at once despite having two HDMI outs. I could on the Pioneer. Perhaps not a feature implemented?

My signal chain for the HTPC:

HTPC (AMD Radeon HD 6670) --> Denon AVR-3311CI --> Digital Projection SX+ (Via HDMI to DVI cable. The projector will be replaced in a few weeks.)

Connectivity issues with HTPCs are quite common and likely related to your using an older DVI TV often resolved by using an HDMI Detective.

I didn't have an issue with the VSX33 though. The DVI projector has HDCP as well.
