Previously my htpc was connected to my panasonic ae900 through a vga cable and everything was fine. Then I recently bought a dvi to hdmi cable and if I try to turn the projector on with the cable attached it shuts itself down. If I unplug it before I turn the projector on it starts up fine then I can connect the cable again and it all works but I have to disconnect the cable before I turn the projector on every time. Any thoughts?

Does your pj turn off when not input signal is detected?otherwise that is not normal.
Im thinking maybe your pc is in standby when you connect it so the pj doesnt get a signal and switches off..otherwise maybe your pc is feeding it an unsupported res.
