Ok, I'm about to build my first HTPC for myself. The primary focus of this box would be upscale DVD's, music, pictures, and video repository, and web surfing. It will NOT be used for gaming. It will NOT be used for recording live TV. I'm aware the hardware is a bit weak, but for the limited applications I am looking to do, is this good enough?
Specs:
P4 2.4 ghz processor
1 gig of RAMBUS
Plextor 716A DVD writer
Geforce 6600 (256 megs of RAM)
Chaintek 710 sound card
Sony 55" LCD RPTV
The only thing I really concerned is the DVD upscaling. Everything else is gravy as far as I'm concerned. Is the hardware good enough for this? I'd like to have some opinions.
TIA,
Rich
