For the past while, my HTPC has been out of service pending some remote control upgades. On Saturday, I attempted to play a rental DVD (After the Storm) on my Toshiba 3109 and it hung on the FBI warning screen.

I switched to the HTPC and tried again, and the disc played flawlessly using Zoom Player. With all the challenges that go with an HTPC it was satisfying to have it outperform a stand-alone DVD player. Makes me wonder what the problem was with the disc.

Does TT have some magic way of skipping FBI warnings, or is this just a bookmarking function where you set the bookmark the first time through, and then skip it in future viewings?

While not being 100% certain, I'm pretty sure that it's the bookmark method as DirectShow doesn't really allow to skip ahead, not to mention you don't even know where to skip to ... it's possible that Track 1 isn't the movie (some movies can reside on track 2, or have 2 versions of the movie, etc...).
