HTPC TV - Video Card Advice

374 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  JoeFigueiredo
Quick question,

I'm building a new HTPC and haven't found a good list of display cards that work with TV's. I'm looking at a sony LCD RP TV KDF-42WE655 or last years model the 610. However I'm not sure which graphics cards work well with this TV. I'd like to use DVI to connect PC to TV. Any suggestion or thoughts?

Is there a list out there of what graphics cards are known to work with TV's out there? Through searching the fourms I see that getting DVI to work is not the easiest thing in the world. I still havent bought a TV yet so I'm still looking. I'm limited on space so 42" would be as big as I can get and the Sony picture seems so much better than the competion in this space.

Thanks in advance

I use an ATI 9600xt 128MB and it works great connected to my Samsung 46 DLP via DVI.
I own a 42we610 and have an Nvidia 5900xt hooked up via DVI. Works flawlessly and very sharp.

Any Geforce nvidia product is best for DVI as it provides 1:1 pixel ratio at 1384x760 resolutions. The TV has a very odd resolution as it is 788, and therefore not divisible by 16.
