I'm still very much on the learning path with home theater.... but I have the HTR-5890 from Yamaha that I bought 3 years ago. Definitely a very nice receiver. However it's lacking HDMI inputs.
I finally made the jump to blu-ray (samsung bdp-1500), however it is my understanding that to enjoy true HD audio I need hdmi to the receiver.
What is my best option? Is it time to get a new receiver or is there an alternative way to enjoy lossless audio and 1080p video?
Also the samsung bdp-1500 blu-ray player I have outputs LPCM by default, and according to the manual that doesn't decode DTS-HD. Should I return this blu-ray for a different one?
Please help. I welcome any and all advice.
Thanks,
Joe
