After the 5099 update I am having a problem w/ the DirecTV guide - but, only for the HD channels. If I re-acquire the guide - the guide data (i.e., the shows for those channels) for the HD channels will show up - but, only for the next two hour period. From two hours and out - it's "To Be Announced."

Is anyone else having this problem?

and

Do you have a solution?

Thanks - Rob.

Yes. I have the mits box and I have had varying amounts of programming from the two HD channels missing from the guide. Mine seems to have changed from very little, to full out 24 hours or so and then nothing beyond that. Others have reported similar experiences. No answers yet that I've seen.

I am having the same problem. I am not getting guide data on my Mits HD500 for HD channels (excluding Showtime HD). DirecTV blames the problem on Mitsubishi however I've not had the chance to call Mits technical support.

I have the Mits receiver and the problem that I see is this.

The guide data disappears from the channels that are coming in on the 110 sat. So at this point that means no guide data for SHOHD (543) and HDTV (198).

All of the other channels are fine, this includes HBOHD (509) and HDNet (199).

This does not appear to be an HD channel problem but a 110 Sat channel problem.

Just to clarify, I have good signal strength on the three transponders from the 110 sat.

This problem can be cleared by a soft re-boot (action, power). The data does get lost again after a few hours of operation.

Hey guys it's not a Mitsu problem. I have the Hughes E-86 and I'm losing programming info 2 hours out (after rebooting) on 534 first then a couple hours later on 199 and 509. I e-mailed Hughes a few days ago about the problem and they told me to disconnect the Sat. C LNB. If this is the problem, that's a very lame solution with 534 being on C. If everyone e-mails Hughes and let's them know we're all having the same problem maybe they'll work on a solution that doesn't include losing the C satellite.

I've got a bit different problem with my Mits 500. All of a sudden I can't get the Local Area HD channels to appear. I get a great signal (> 90) on the physical channel (55) but it says Channel Unavailable when I try to get the logical one (8-1). Any clues?

I am having the problem with my Toshiba model on all the HDTV stations, however not all three at the same time. Sometimes I am missing info for 199 and 509 and other times just for 543. Go figure!

I am having the same problems with my DST3000. I lost all info in the guide from channels on the 119 after installing the 110. I did another reconfigure on the dish. It found all three and updated the guide. It shows info for the 119 for only a few hours. I haven't noticed it losing the info for the 110. Disconnecting the sat C kit is not an option, what a joke. Guess it is better than before when we didn't have a guide at all. Has anyone gotten a responce from Hughes/Toshiba/Mitsubishi on a fix or timeframe of a fix? Didn't it take 4 months to fix the disappearing guide problem?

Since in my case, as I said earlier, it's the 110 channel that only wants to say TBA until I reaquire the guide, I'm just leaving channel 537 in my Fav list as well as 543. Obviously I shouldnt have to do that but since the listings are the same for both channels it's one way to see whats on 543 in the meantime by simply pulling up the guide without having to reaquire it every couple hours or whatever.

My info lasts longer on 199 and 509 now. After a reboot, it goes for about a day and 1/2 while 543 only lasts maybe a few hours. It's too bad that an otherwise excellent receiver has to have a problem that apparently its developers can't find a solution for. I have the RCA DTC-100 and have tried the Sony SATHD-300 and this is by far the best reçeiver except for its l

ittle quirks.

Add another one. I have a Mits HD-5, and lost HDNet and HBOH guides right after I had the third lnb installed. Since then (2 weeks) it comes & goes. Once I had ShowtimeHD added, they all came up intil about 7:00 EST last night, when they all three went out again.

The thing about it that bums me out is that mine has been flawless since I bought it last fall (including through the 5089? upgrade) until now. This upgrade has only been bad new for me :(. It's not a huge thing but I do use the guide a lot.

My third SR-HD5 has been rock solid, including through the 5085 upgrade. That upgrade removed any fear of unplugging or rebooting, since 5085 it has always come back up with no missing info and no requirement to remove unwanted channels. With 5099 I have lost the black border options which I gained with 5085. I had already installed the Sat C kit with no noticeable side effects.

On 4/30 I changed from HBO/Starz to HBO/Showtime and have had to reboot several times to refresh guide info for 543. Yesterday morning I woke up to find all of my program descriptions missing, including all DirecTV channels and local OTA. Rebooting solved the problem, but I still don't have 543 info for more than two hours out, so now it usually shows "To Be Scheduled". I only have HBOHD descriptions for about a day and a half out.

Guys I don't think the 5099 update was at fault. I'm on my 7th receiver (I keep swapping with Tweeter until I finally get it right). I picked this one up last week and it had the 5046 firmware. I had the guide problem prior to them downloading the 5099 to my receiver this past Sunday morning. All the 5099 did was speed up the guide, give me the black bar option and set-up option in the TurboTune. I was already losing HD info the day I installed it.

Maybe you just got another bad box then? All I can say is my missing HD channel info started the very same day we got the upgrade and I had had zero problems before. That would be quite the coincidence....
