Hulu network show content lacking?

Looking to finalize cutting of my cord, with an ATSC tuner being put into my DVR for local channels, and about to order Hulu. I saw that hulu shows it has all the netwroks I watch avaiolable, so I assumed this meant that the shows I can watch on those networks websites with provider login would be the same shows on Hulu. I checked CBS and ABC just looking to confirm just a handful of shows I watch wewre listed.

For ABC, checked on The Rookie, The Good Doctor, and The Resident. Only The Good Doctor is listed. For CBS I checked Bull, SWAT, and Blue Bloods. Only Blue Bloods was listed, and not even the current season. Is this the same for all the other networks as well, a random sprinkling of a few popular shows? Currently I use my provider login to watch 5Mbps 1080p24 for network and broadcast shows, because it's higher quality than the garbage 720p transcodes Cox cable has been spitting out.

Without a provider login though, I would have to rely on OTA quality (no provider log in gets you horribly reduced quality on ABC.com for instance), and I don't know what type of content I can expect to reasonable have available for basic cable services on Hulu given what I have seen $6 isn't much, but if it can't help aggragate my viewing into one app... :(

Streaming is still the wild west and very inconsistent. The only way to guarantee you'll get the same stuff that airs is to stream those live networks. It's more changing the cords vs cutting the cords. A show might be listed as streaming one minute and gone the next or air on the network one season and streaming only on their paid app the next.

Hulu used to be a good place to watch network shows a day after they aired on TV (and still does for FX channel shows)… That was years ago, ownership changed, more players have their own apps, and streaming is more complicated.
That said, one option to reduce the cord cost compared to cable is to get one of the “TV” streaming packages like Hulu with Live TV, YouTube TV, Sling TV, etc. These are more like a traditional cable subscription with DVR and live programming guide, but without the equipment requirements and contract terms, and range from ~$30-70 per month. These will get you access to broadcast programs like sports and day-of viewing, but definitely costs more than the “traditional” streamer plans do on their own.
Torrenting and running a Plex server is the most reliable way to get whatever content you want.
