Just received my new Panasonic PT-42PD3-P. Hooked it up and I have a humming noise through my speakers - not the Panasonic, but my home theater speakers. I realize this is probably interference, but have no idea from what. There are no flourescent lights or other appliances that would appear to cause the problem. The humming stops as soon as I unplug the S-video cable from the Panasonic. I have no humming when I plug the S-video back in to my CRT TV. Any ideas?

it could be a ground loop issue- the most common cause is the cable TV feed, which is often at a different potential than the rest of your system

disconnect the cable TV feed from your system and see if that resolves the hum- if it does, a ground isolator from Radio Shack should be installed

there could be many other sources of ground loops or hum, but this is the best place to look first
