CC has the EH50S for $314.99 after applying the 10%. Is this as good as it gets, pricewise? Should I pull the trigger? It is the one I chose.

I think it's a good deal because the Cheapest I've seen it for was $299.99 but then you had to add on the S&H.
I was not able to get the 10% coupon to work what was the number you used

Thanks JOE
I used X7AEN7TAWY, with CAPS.

On the payment CC page, you use the coupon there. I got 10% off $349 (35), $314 + tax. Picked it up this morning.
Online use coupon # X7AEN7TAWY, mine was $333 shiped with tax

JOE
I bought mine from CC 2 months ago and that's how long it lasted until the hard drive went bad. Sometimes they're on sale for a reason.

I read about your problem.. That sucks, hope I do a little better. I had to go with a hard drive, too long to make multiple copies with a non HDD. Maybe if I really push it, I can get everything done and return it to CC before the time is up.
Argh!

It's $10 cheaper today and includes a 30 Gift Card rebate.

I could PM for the $10 I guess.

LOL. I wish you luck.

Just curious--can you replace the hard drives in these recorders (or in any other DVD recorder that has a hard drive) when the hard drives die? If so, could you replace them with a higher capacity hard drive, or must you use the same size?

Many thanks!

According to what I've read here you cannot benefit from a bigger drive. The firmware is only set for whatever size the regular drive had. I am contemplating replacing my bad drive with an extra drive I have and seeing if it works.

As already said so far with the panasonic units the size is hard coded into the firmware. Some of the cheaper units will format any size drive you plunk in, like the LiteOn 5045 I think will and some of the LG units do. Depends on how they set up the unit in question. Now it's possible some clever person that knows the firmware language might be able to rework it for a bigger drive but so far it hasn't happened that I'm aware of. I have a E80H and would love to add a bigger drive too.

Never dealt with CC before on-line. So I plugged the above code in and - lo and behold - it dropped the price accordingly. Now, when I go into the store to pick up the unit, do I have to be holding a genuine coupon in my sweaty hand? Or is just pluggiing the coupon code into the on-line order form all there is to it? On top of the $30 Gift Card they're offering with this purchase, this is looking awfully sweet compared to last week's deals.

Thanks.

My understanding is that they will email you a receipt which you need to print out and take with you, along with the CC you used and a photo ID in order to pick it up.

Pretty good deal.. The $30 Gift Card isn't that great, cash rebate would be better. Excluding the EH50, I only bought 1 DVD there this year.
Thanks for the replies and additional info.

My main concern was that I might need an actual hard copy of the coupon whose number I used for the order, which I don't have.

I agree, doubtful I'll use up the gift card in whatever allotted time it must be used. I don't buy much at CC either.

Appreciate the help. :)
You can always use the "Gift Card" for Blank DVDs :)
We're sorry; the coupon code entered is not valid today. If the coupon hasn't expired, you may use the code during the listed valid dates. Status =

:(
ey bud u can still just print out the final page from the cc site w/the final price and take it to sears, they will price match and also give 10% discout.
