Hi everyone,

I have a Sony G70 that I'm planning to floor mount, and build a hush box/coffee table on top of.

My question is: how far past the rear fan vents should I extend the box? The install manual says to allow 30 cm (12") rear clearance-- but would this still apply if I'm drawing out the warm air with a fan?

Also, do you foresee any problem with drawing the warm air DOWNWARD from the back of the unit? I'm planning to have the rear of the box attached to the riser/raised platform -- and want to hide the ducting beneath riser. In this configuration, the projector would still sit slightly ABOVE the level of the raised floor -- so I'll need to draw the air downward at the rear of the hush box, and then out the ducting within the riser to the adjoining room.

(I hope I'm explaining this sufficiently, and you can picture it OK).

Let me know if you think this scheme will work, and what you think the rear clearance within the hush box should be.

Many thanks in advance for your help,

Steve
