Hey all you pro-painters! Aside for the economy of scale and overspray, are there technical advantages to an HVLP sprayer over a aerosol can? Do you get better atomization which would lead to a better "fog" ? I'm just wondering if in my case I should stick with a spraycan rather than go with a sprayer (don't worry about the cost of the sprayer, that's another issue altogether).

The other issue is that I've only seen matte silver in an aerosol can. All the non-spray, latex silvers I've seen locally are metallics.

of coarse a HPLV or any air gun atomizes it better. A rattle can has a 1 cent plastic tip that's not adjustable.

But what better about the air gun is you have access to hundreds of types of paints, reducers, solvents, catalists etc to make an enourmous amount of combinations. And of course volume.

If you want professional results a gun is the only way. Especially with some paints!

Of course you're right, I guess I was just looking for third party justification.
